Katzentisch: The Ultimate Wedding Bouquet ♥ Der ultimative Brautstrauß

Oh, I know, I'm late to the party. But there are still weddings to come, so maybe this is still of interest for you.

In the past I've told you about my favourite florist Frauke, about some of her beautiful flower arrangements and about her flower shop. But I forgot to tell you that in May we launched her brand new catalogue. Just before the catalogue was going to print Frauke asked me to take a few photos of some brand new wedding bouquets she and her team had made.

Although I really love flowers, I'm not at all thrilled about the latest fashion in bridal's bouquets. Squeezing a ton of beautiful blossoms into one large, accurately ball-shaped bouquet to me is cruelty to flowers. Not only is this strange habit far from any art of floristry, it also could be done way cheaper by just taking a polystyrene ball, putting it on a stick with some fancy ribbon and painting it with large dots.

So guess my surprise when I arrived at the flower shop and caught sight of some bride's bouquets that could best be described as celestial.

I've never seen such wedding bouquets before. Frauke and her team apply a new technique to wedding bouquet making and the result is an extremely lightweight, airy and surprisingly long lasting flower bouquet. At the time I arrived for taking some shots all bouquets were several days old (without sitting in the water!). And we are talking about fresh flowers here, no artificial stuff! But see for yourself.

Some of Frauke's customers who had no use for a wedding bouquet already asked for making something similar as some kind of floral object for a room.

OK, ich bin vielleicht ein bisschen spät dran damit. Aber geheiratet wird ja immer noch, also vielleicht ist das dann ja doch noch von Interesse.

Ich hab' ja schon ein paarmal über meine Lieblings-Floristin Frauke geschrieben, z.B. hier und hier. Aber ich hab' vergessen zu erzählen, dass wir im Mai Fraukes neuen Katalog veröffentlicht haben. Kurz bevor der zum Druck gehen sollte, fragte Frauke, ob ich nicht noch ein paar Fotos von ganz neuen Brautsträußen machen könne, die sie gerade kreiert hatten.

Und obwohl ich ja Blumen wirklich liebe - die aktuelle Brautstrauß-Mode ist das Letzte. Da werden jede Menge wunderschöner Blüten zusammengequetscht in eine möglichst akurate Ballform - für mich ist das Misshandlung von Blumen. Das hat nicht nur nix mit Blumenkunst zu tun, das könnte man auch deutlich billiger haben. Eine Styroporkugel auf einem Stecken, ein paar bunte Bänder dran und auf die Kugel ein paar dicke Farbpunkte aufgemalt - fertig.

Stellt' euch mal meine Überraschung vor, als ich in Fraukes Laden ankam und dort Brautsträuße erblickte, die man nur mit 'überirdisch' beschreiben kann.

So was hab' ich noch nie vorher gesehen. Frauke wendet dabei eine neue Technik an. Die Brautsträuße sind extrem leicht, luftig und dabei überraschend lange haltbar. Als ich dort aufschlug, um die Fotos zu machen, waren die Sträuße bereits mehrere Tage alt - ohne im Wasser zu stehen! Und wir reden hier über frische Blumen, keine künstlichen! Aber seht selbst.

Einige Kunden von Frauke, die aktuell keinen Hochzeitsstrauß brauchen, haben schon ähnliche Gebinde verlangt, die sie als florale Objekte ins Zimmer gestellt haben.
